Oceanco's 109-metre flagship Bravo Eugenia recently delivered to US billionaire and owner of the Dallas Cowboys NFL franchise, Jerry Jones, has received an award in the category of Technology and Innovation at the Yacht Club of Monaco, according to Yacht Harbour.

A renowned explorer Mike Horn chaired the international award jury, that also included the President of the Société des Explorateurs Français and the President of the American Explorers Club.

One of the largest yachts ever built in the Netherlands, Bravo Eugenia was developed in collaboration between Oceanco and Lateral Naval Architects. The vessel is claimed to be one of the pioneers of the so called LIFE (Lengthened, Innovative, Fuel Efficient, Eco Friendly) design. She is trademarked with extended waterline, fuel-efficient hull design and innovative layout with eco-conscious technologies.

The yacht’s slender elegance has been stipulated by the LIFE Design, featuring a reduction in the overall demand for propulsion power at the same time. Thus, the yacht’s engine room is condensed to a single tier what is quite rare for such large yachts. That has given space to additional lifestyle areas especially on the lower deck.

Bravo Eugenia is developed with an optimized hybrid propulsion system featuring new energy-saving technologies. The latter include hydrodynamic efficiency, heat and energy-recovery systems, and integrated battery systems ensuring optimal operation at all times. The system is conceived to reduce fuel consumption by 27 percent.

The 109-metre's interior was created by Reymond Langton, with an expected over 4,000 GT of volume. Stretching across a 16.3-meter beam, the yacht is capable of reaching a top speed of 17.5 knots. Bravo Eugenia is also fitted with an exclusive 'whisper mode' to avoid disturbing surrounding yachts when entering and exiting ports.

The Explorer Award, presented by the President of the Yacht Club of Monaco, H.S.H. Sovereign Prince Albert II, was accepted by Marcel Onkenhout, Oceanco’ CEO on behalf of the owners.

We are honored to receive such a prestigious award. The opportunity for our entire family to work alongside Oceanco in seeing this project to fruition has been an unparalleled experience in innovation and design,

said Gene Jones.

The owner of the yacht, Jerry Jones whose net worth is estimated at $6.8 billion by Forbes, belongs on the list of sports teams owners with the largest yachts. Having made his wealth in the oil industry, Jones is most famous for his ownership of the Dallas Cowboys NFL franchise. Purchased for $150 million in 1989 the American football team is now worth an estimated $5 billion.
