The eminent owners of Dolce & Gabbana brand, Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce, partner not only in the business, but in the ownership of a 51-metre superyacht Regina d’Italia. The vessel was put on sale last autumn asking €18,000,000. Yacht Harbour takes a closer look on where the price comes from.

Built by Italian yard Codecasa in 2006, Regina d’Italia represents extraordinary balance between flamboyance and minimalism, applied to yacht design. Italian equivalent for ‘The Queen of Italy’, the yacht features a beam of 9,5 metres and a draft of 3,3 metres within a steel hull and aluminium superstructure.

Regina d’Italia demonstrates clean metallic exteriors styled by Della Role Design. She is provided with a lot of space and alfresco zones across three deck areas. A sundeck with several lounging zones and 360 views is one of the yacht’s key trademarks. Another distinctive feature of the boat is her giant custom-built, inflatable water slide.

The yacht’s interiors featuring nearly unprecedented for a yacht opulence, were developed by Lazzarini Pickering Architetti. Conceived as the reflection of high-fashion living, the yacht’s strict minimalistic architecture blends into incomparable richness, both in terms of materials and effects.

Reflecting Dolce & Gabbana lavish fashion style, Regina d’Italia’s decoration boasts studded with rubies and sapphires taps, gold veined marble floors and animalistic prints prevailing as a texture. According to the broker’s information, all the precious materials on-board are genuine, whether gold, mink or crocodile skin.

Regina d’Italia offers accommodation to up to 12 guests on-board within a full-beam owner’s suite boasting a large dressing room and private gym, a VIP stateroom, two double staterooms and two twin cabins. Notably, each of the four guest bedrooms is named after exotic animals: giraffe, rhinoceros, elephant and crocodile. The guests can rely on an elevator to get from the lower deck up to the sundeck and back.

Techno wise, the yacht features top speed of 18 knots and cruises comfortably at 15 knots at the range of 4600 nautical miles, with the power of two Caterpillars of 2448 HP each.

Regina d'Italia is equipped with an ultra-modern stabilization system which reduces roll motion effect and results in a smoother more enjoyable cruising experience underway. This luxury yacht is also fitted with 'at anchor stabilisers' which work at anchor, increasing on-board comfort when the yacht is stationary, particularly in rough waters.

The yacht underwent a refit in 2018.

All in all, the world-renowned fashion house Dolce & Gabbana founded in 1985, remains iconic, contributing to the net worth of $1,4 billions for each of its owners - Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce, as of February 2019 according to Forbes.
