Damen's 55m New Frontiers sold
The Dutch shipyard, the parent company of Amels, has announced the sale of their latest support vessel New Frontiers that made a memorable appearance at Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
Part of Damen's innovative series of support yachts Sea Axe, the 55-meter New Frontiers built in 2017 combines the essential functions of a shadow vessel with a luxury superyacht's comfort.
«New Frontiers is still a yacht support vessel, but you can't put this vessel into one category or another», Rose Damen, commercial director at Dimen suggests.
Built to support the mothership to the best of its capacity, the yacht features a helipad, an extensive open deck space for a multitude of tenders, and an ample storage space for water toys and diving equipment.
What makes it different from other boats of its kind, is that it has dedicated accommodations, including an owner's suite on the main deck and three more suites for up to six guests, not to mention crew quarters for a staff of four. Among other amenities, there is a panoramic main deck lounge area, a dining room and a 50-meter recreation zone on the sun deck.
Boasting a cruising range of 5.000 nautical miles, the vessel reaches a maximum speed of 20 knots, and it does so with grace.
The fast sale of New Frontiers, following the sale of Fast & Furious last year, cements Damen's leadership of the rapidly developing support and adventure market, particularly driven by the demand for watersport and diving activities.

On this occasion, Damen also opened up about their new 55-meter project in-build that will be equipped with a host of yachting enhancements and an even bigger watersports store. It will be available for delivery by the summer of 2018.
