Secret is out: Leonardo DiCaprio buys Moby's L.A. mansion

Moby spent two years renovating the Los Feliz home, but Leonardo DiCaprio will now take advantage of it. The actor purchased this five-bed, including two master suites, eight-bath home for $4.91 million, which is almost $500,000 above the listing price of $4.495 million. DiCaprio is the wolf of the Los Angeles real estate market and has an impressive portfolio of Los Angeles-area properties.

The opulent mansion was built in 1926. After the overhaul, it was described by the listing agents as “Moby’s Los Feliz Masterpiece.” The Oscar-winning actor definitely makes no stranded investments. Moby, 52, bought the home in 2016 for $3.4 million, and gave it a contemporary makeover.

The house still boasts many original details such as vaulted ceilings while Moby, who is not only successful musician but also a restaurateur, added a new kitchen with marble countertops and a center island, a steam room, and modern security system and a loft that has been transformed into a meditation/yoga room.

For DiCaprio this might be the highlight among other amenities: the actor is a huge yoga fan!  At the start of the day, the actor meditates for an hour in the morning or goes to yoga. And this is not the only thing that unites them. Moby and DiCaprio are not only partners in a real estate deal, they are good friends in real life. Besides, both are involved in activism - Moby and DiCaprio are passionate environmentalists and animal rights activists.

Moby also owns a vegan bistro in Los Angeles, located in the Silver Lake. The restaurant serves organic, vegan, Mediterranean-inspired dishes and has a retail section with art and books. DiCaprio was spotted there several times. In April, Moby posted a photo of himself, DiCaprio, and scientist Jane Goodall, which was also reposted by DiCaprio on his Instagram.

Perhaps, DiCaprio will add his touches to the house’s equipment. The actor is a strong supporter of eco-friendly items. DiCaprio owns environment-friendly electric-hybrid vehicles and some of his homes are provided with solar panels.

However, according to the Los Angeles Times, he "bought the English Traditional home through a trust for a family member." Whoever will live in the 4,644 square feet house, lands in the celebrity neighborhood. Moby won’t be far and can keep an eye on his former house. In 2014, he bought the house next door.

Outside, there’s a small forest full of tall trees, which makes the house absolutely paparazzi-proof. If DiCaprio comes to visit his family member, he can be absolutely calm relaxing by the sparkling pool. The wellness amenities also include a spa and a covered lounge area. The property surrounded by lush landscaping is also walled and gated.

Inside the interiors are decorated in light colors with a wide use of elements of natural wood and neutrally-toned furniture. The state-of-the-art kitchen with walk-in pantry also offers indoor and outdoor dining due to a direct access to the beautiful outdoor living area. If more romantic is required, there’s a stylish dining room with a charming fireplace and a living room with a grand piano.

Each of two master suites located upstairs features a marble bathroom and spacious closet. When renovating the house, Moby apparently put all his imagination power and designer talent into it. Each room is unique in layout and has its own aesthetically-pleasing charm.

Those who are lucky enough to be guests of this house will be quartered on the lower level. There's a guest suite with a hidden passage that connects to a steam room. There's also a room, which can serve as an office. Given that DiCaprio is one of the busiest real estate investors in Hollywood, he definitely needs a place where he could focus on business issues in a quiet environment.

“The Revenant” star in not only an A-list actor in-demand, he is a serious real estate investor, who constantly develops his property portfolio, which includes also Manhattan apartments, and a Palm Springs vacation home. Last year, DiCaprio made headlines after he has paid Vincent Viola, a billionaire investor and Mr. Trump’s pick for Army secretary, $23 million for a Malibu beachfront mansion.

DiCaprio’s wealth is the result of his successful career of many years. He debuted in 1991 and became widely known and gained critical acclaim in 1993 after he starred in This Boy's Life directed by Michael Caton-Jones. He was six times nominated for an Oscar award, but has received a long-anticipated award only once, in 2016 for his role in the sensational movie The Revenant by Alejandro González Iñárritu.

He is also an engaged environmental activist. Following the success of Titanic in 1997, DiCaprio founded a non-profit organization devoted to promoting environmental awareness. He also supports many environmental organizations. In 2015 alone, DiCaprio earned over $29 million according to Forbes.
