New Titanic will sail on in 2022
Australian billionaire Clive Palmer is building an exact copy of the cruise liner.
The ocean liner Titanic II, which is an exact copy of the sunken one, will be launched in 2022. Clive Palmer, a businessman and politician from Australia, had long dreamed of reconstructing the Titanic. He invested in the creation of a new vessel about $ 500 million.
It is planned to recreate the original interiors of the vessel, but equipping it with modern navigation systems and providing all security measures. A copy of the Titanic will repeat the historical route of the ship from the UK to the USA. The number of passengers is 2400 people, the crew is 900 people. During the summer months, the liner will make regular flights across the Atlantic.
"The ship will follow the original journey, carrying passengers from Southampton to New York, but she will also circumnavigate the globe, inspiring and enchanting people while attracting unrivaled attention, intrigue and mystery in every port she visits," said Palmer in a statement.
The project was initiated by Palmer in 2012, but was temporarily suspended after several years due to financial difficulties.
