Vista Global to acquire 'Uber of the skies'
Dubai-headquartered Vista Global has entered into an agreement to acquire a private jet booking app JetSmarter. JetSmarter offers an innovative alternative to the dated and overpriced services offered in private aviation today.
The Jetsmarter app, which has two million downloads to date, allows both members and on-demand customers to book private or shared trips instantly. JetSmarter’s marketplace technology will fulfil Vista Global’s digitalization strategy, providing all customers with an unmatched end-to-end service booking experience. The acquisition will enhance Vista Global’s position offering the largest suite of services and advanced technologies to every private aviation customer. JetSmarter’s platform will, therefore, be integrated into the back-end technology of Vista Global’s brands VistaJet, Vista Lease and XOJET.
Previously the JetSmarter raised funding from a range of investors, including the Saudi royal family and rapper and businessman Jay Z, which gave the company around a $1.5 billion valuation.
Vista Global’s Founder and Chairman Thomas Flohr says: “Today’s acquisition is an important milestone for Vista Global – accelerating and executing our vision of digitalizing the entire private aviation offering. Customers today want speed, reliability, and value, which in today’s world is only possible with technology. Vista Global’s reach and infrastructure will take JetSmarter to the global stage to fully realize its potential. JetSmarter’s technology will digitalize Vista Global’s market-leading customer offering to Program Members and On Demand customers.”
Meanwhile, JetSmarter has announced the launch of two exclusive round-trip crowdfunded flight options to Louisville, Kentucky this May.
JetSmarter's same-day round-trip flight deals include:
West Palm Beach to Louisville to Augusta, on 5/4 starting at $3,495
