The Dubai Airshow premiere: the King visited the Emirates’ Boeing 777 first class suite
In the end of October, Singapore Airlines presented its new A380’s first class cabin. Only after two weeks — another version of a first class is here. This time it’s Emirates airline’s luxury cabin.
Emirates, known as the first airline to introduce showers onboard commercial jets, displays its futuristic design on the first day of Dubai Airshow 2017. The airshow started on 12 November. His Higness Sheikn Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum who is also the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai visited the airshow site and exact Emirates’ new first class suite.
Emirates joined forces with Mercedes Benz and a former Top Gear’s star Jeremy Clarkson to launch the new first class suite layout, inspired by expensive cars design. The airline has recruited Clarkson, for the advertising campaign to promote the fresh first class.
Having asked about the cost, Emirates mentioned «many millions» of dollars spent on the new design over several years.
The six fully enclosed suites for its Boeing 777-300ER wide-body airliner feature seats that recline into flat beds. Emirates has placed high-definition cameras outside the fuselage to provide passengers sitting in the middle of the first class cabin with a window-like experience.
Several design details in Emirates latest first class product were inspired by Mercedes Benz, including the soft leather seating and stitching, high-tech touch screen control panels, and the mood lighting within the suite.
