Indian Dream: Dassault could start building private jets in India
Dassault Aviation, the French publicly-traded company behind the Falcon series, could move its business jet construction to India according to Bloomberg. This follows the company winning a bid to supply 36 Rafale aircrafts to the Indian military.
"We really want to do something which is a real industrial cooperation in India" said Dassault Aviation CEO, Eric Trappier. "We are starting a big partnership."
Dassault manufacturing airplanes in the South Asian country could be a strong push for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's program, "Make in India" aimed at encouraging large companies to start building their products in India.
Recently, Dassault Aviation confirmed that it was once again delaying the deliveries of their Falcon 5X due to engine problems. The company invested near €1 billion in the development of the product so far.
